Annual Visual Arts and Literacy contest

Inspiring youth across the globe, KHEC’s Annual Visual Arts and Literacy contest encourages students to explore our collections and make meaningful connections to artifacts from the Holocaust. Each year we receive creative works from students in hundreds of schools, keeping the history of the Holocaust alive and relevant for the next generation.

This year’s theme is ילדים שנולדו לפרוח - Born to Live; Remembering the Children of the Holocaust.” The program includes a curated collection of six items that belonged to children who left their homes to escape Nazi persecution, portraying the Holocaust through the eyes of children who survived. Artifacts and letters are preserved and accessible, giving insight into the fragility of their worlds and the potential of each and every individual. Students are invited to participate by submitting either a Written or Visual Arts response to one of the artifacts.

Submission Deadline: March 15, 2017
